Laboratory Technician

In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for testing raw honey, bulk materials, and finished products to ensure they meet strict quality standards. This is on a 12-month fixed-term agreement to cover an internal secondment. Reporting to our Acting Lab Supervisor and working closely with a small team of likeminded Lab Technicians and wider Science team, this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a structured lab environment, values accuracy, and wants to contribute to high-quality natural products with global reach. What your day could look like Sampling and testing of honey against quality specifications to IANZ standards. Liaise with operational staff and communicate sampling requirements for raw honey drums Ensure drums are sampled, tested, reported and checked against specifications in a timely manner. Determine testing requirements and sampling plan based on quality specifications, and Supplier Service Representative requirements. Work closely with quality and compliance team to ensure test methods meet required standards Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment. Actively contribute to the laboratories Quality Management System through internal and external audits and assisting with SOPs and Quality documentation. What you'll bring Tertiary qualification in Science would be advantageous Ideally 2+ years of Laboratory Experience within an IANZ environment UPLC / Mass Spec experience Strong ability to maintain both internal and external relationships Strong attention to detail and passion surrounding meticulous record keeping Working with us At Comvita, you will be part of a purpose-driven business with a proud legacy and a bold future.
