The Children’s Contact Worker is a part-time role based at Frankston – Bunurong Land and provides trauma capable, evidence-based support to separated families who are engaged in high level conflict to effectively manage their parenting arrangements and understand the impact of conflict on their children. The Children’s Contact Service Worker provides child-focused, safe, and professional services to families experiencing separation and conflict. The role is responsible for facilitating supervised contact and changeovers, conducting risk assessments, maintaining high-quality documentation, and supporting families to comply with court-directed parenting arrangements. The CCS Worker works collaboratively with children, parents, courts, and other stakeholders to ensure services are delivered in accordance with legislative requirements, organisational standards, and best-practice principles. Key Responsibility Areas As a Children’s Contact Worker, you will provide safe, child-focused and professional support to separated families by facilitating supervised visits and changeovers, always prioritising the needs and safety of children and families. You will conduct ongoing risk assessments, develop safety plans where required, build positive relationships with children, families and program stakeholders, and provide professional assessments and support in line with court-directed parenting orders. This role also includes maintaining accurate documentation and administrative systems, including CCS observational reports, delivering services in accordance with quality standards, legislation and contractual requirements, liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding referrals and ongoing family support. Our Ideal Candidate at Family Life The successful candidate will bring a relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Family Therapy, Counselling or a related Human Services discipline, along with experience supporting separated families and managing complex or high-conflict family dynamics. You will demonstrate sound knowledge of child development, trauma-informed practice and family systems theory, strong assessment, report writing and stakeholder engagement skills, and a clear commitment to child safety, professional boundaries and high-quality service delivery. You will also be organised, collaborative and adaptable, with confidence using digital systems, flexibility to work across locations, and availability to work Fridays and Saturdays as a core requirement of the role.
