Accounts Payable & Receivable Accountant Location: Ghislenghien, Belgium (Onsite – 5 days per week) Industry: Advanced Materials, Chemicals & Sustainable Energy Technology The Opportunity: We are supporting an innovative international organisation operating within the advanced materials and sustainable energy sector. As part of continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Accountant to join their finance team, supporting day-to-day accounting operations while contributing to the financial management of a fast-growing scientific and manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices accurately and efficiently Monitor outstanding payments and proactively follow up on customer accounts Assist with month-end closing activities Prepare financial statements and accounting documentation Support VAT compliance and statutory reporting Prepare financial reports for management Maintain accurate financial records within the ERP system Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient financial processes Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function Required Experience: 3-4 years of accounting experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline Experience in processing both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Strong Microsoft Excel skills Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems Professional-level English communication skills Ability to work full-time onsite in Ghislenghien, Belgium EU citizenship or unrestricted right to work within the EU Desirable Skills: Experience within manufacturing, chemicals, scientific or industrial environments Knowledge of VAT compliance Experience supporting the month-end financial close Strong organisational and analytical skills Ability to work independently while collaborating within a wider finance team What's on Offer: Opportunity to join an innovative international organisation Exposure to a modern, scientific, and technology-driven environment Collaborative and supportive finance team Career development opportunities Performance-related annual bonus Stable full-time permanent position 40-hour working week Fully on-site working environment Candidate Profile: We are particularly interested in finance professionals who combine strong accounting fundamentals with hands-on invoice processing experience and who enjoy working in fast-paced, technology-driven organisations where accuracy, collaboration and continuous improvement are highly valued.
