Surface Mining & Aggregate Operations Dietzler Companies is seeking a Mine or Mechanical Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience in surface mining, aggregate production, and heavy equipment operations. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in pursuing careers in mining, aggregates, or industrial operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the intern will work alongside experienced engineers and operations leaders at aggregate plants and quarry sites, assisting with mine planning, production analysis, equipment performance, safety initiatives, and operational improvement projects. Responsibilities Assist with mine planning, pit development, and/or mechanical projects at the plant in Southeastern Wyoming or Northeastern Colorado. Support analysis of production data and operating efficiencies. Participate in quarry, plant, and equipment inspections. Assist with geological, geotechnical, and operational evaluations. Help prepare maps, reports, and regulatory documentation. Work with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to solve real-world challenges. Participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a degree in: Mining Engineering Mechanical Engineering Or a related field Strong interest in surface mining, heavy equipment, or industrial operations. Willingness to work in outdoor quarry and aggregate plant environments. Willingness to work in office locations in Northern Colorado (including Denver area Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
