Desired Experience 8+ years in Software Engineering Job Description Our expanding engineering team is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Staff Python Backend Engineer. The role involves designing and building high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend systems. Candidate must have deep technical expertise and be proficient with Python frameworks to create robust, scalable solutions. Responsibilities cover developing and maintaining core backend systems, implementing APIs, optimizing performance, and ensuring infrastructure health. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and offers the chance to influence our tech stack, shape the development culture, and continuously improve engineering best practices. In this hands-on role the engineer will be responsible to drive the project from concept to deployment. Responsibilities Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable enterprise backend components on time and within budget, adhering to technical requirements and design specifications. Demonstrated ability to select and justify technology choices, supported by thorough research. Triage, debug, and ensure the timely resolution of software bugs. Participate in functional spec, design, and code reviews. Follow industry standard practices to develop and maintain application code. Take an active role in reducing the technical debt in our various codebases. Mentor junior team members. Requirements Exceptional proficiency in Python, including experience with the FastAPI framework. Excellent knowledge of RDBMS (Postgres preferred), message queues, and Elasticsearch is required. Required experience in designing and building microservices based on REST APIs. Experienced in building high-performing, distributed, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. Experience with AWS services (ECS, ELB, Lambda, SQS, VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, etc.). Experience in building scalable, resilient services using cloud-native tech stack. Docker and Kubernetes expertise is preferred. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are mandatory. Skilled in communicating technical concepts to technical and business stakeholders. Self-motivated with the ability to accomplish tasks with minimal direction. Experience with cyber security engineering is good to have. Note: This position requires working from the office full-time; remote work is not available
