Position: YMCA Gym Supervisor Reports To: Program Engagement Manager Status: Non-Exempt | Part-Time Pay: $16.50–$18.00/hour Location: In-Person (Sioux Falls YMCA & rental facilities) Available Hours/Shifts: Wednesdays (HI-Y): 5:30 PM – 10:00 PM Saturdays (Youth League): 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (1 or 2 shifts available per location) Sundays (HI-Y): 10:30 AM – 8:00 PM Our Mission-Driven Culture At the YMCA, we’re more than a gym—we’re a cause-driven community committed to strengthening the foundations of community. Determined: Together, we’re building a better tomorrow. Position Summary As a Gym Supervisor, you'll help create a safe, fun, and welcoming space for all youth sports participants. You’ll manage operations during youth basketball programs, ensure smooth transitions between games, and support coaches, players, and families. Key Responsibilities Open/close the gym 30 minutes before and after programs Set up and manage equipment (scoreboards, clocks, chairs) Enforce program start/stop times and YMCA safety policies Restore the gym to a clean and orderly condition Lock facility doors, check bathrooms, broom and turn off lights at the end of your shift Record and report game scores to the Program Engagement Manager within 12 hours after your shift Foster and maintain positive communication with coaches and players Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED Must pass a background check & participate in CPR training (YMCA will lead after hire and you will be paid for your training) Familiarity with the YMCA Basketball Program, mission and values preferred Confidence and professionalism when engaging with diverse groups An ideal candidate is trustworthy and dependable. Must have a great work ethic and must represent the YMCA in a positive way.
