Job Title: Software Engineer Company: Dalcom Engineering Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD Salary: $112,000 - $197,000 per year Position Overview Dalcom Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support a team focused on mission-critical research, development, systems engineering, and modernization efforts for the U.S. Army. Key Responsibilities Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs to meet user and mission needs. Analyze user requirements and develop software solutions using principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Design, implement, and maintain software infrastructure, APIs, and data models to enable interoperability and seamless information exchange. Write modular, scalable, and platform-agnostic code in accordance with MOSA design strategies and open standards such as ISA. Integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and define performance requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Apply modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) and participate in configuration and change management processes. Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and expertise to assist project teams with product integration and compliance with data standards. Maintain databases and support the full software development lifecycle, including testing, documentation, and release management Qualifications / Desired Skills Bachelor's degree in STEM field 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Experience with programming concepts and modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting is highly desirable. Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification preferred for advanced levels. Experience with configuration management, change management, and product release processes is a plus. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple technical priorities.
