ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in the month end preparation and analysis of monthly Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement and supporting schedules Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules. Prepares, records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. Review, maintain and record lease activity in accordance with company policy and IFRS 16 in the financial and lease management systems and submit monthly rent payments for processing Coordinate, review and train work load of the Shared Services team Review and approve internal controls and workflow processes to recommend and plan improvements Maintain fixed assets and related entries Collaborate with cross functional teams (ie. operations, procurement, payroll, etc.) as required Ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS principles. Support internal and external audits. Other duties as assigned by Management. REQUIREMENTS: 5 - 7 years Experience Must live within Eastern Time Zone In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) standards Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process Hands-on experience with Accounting software packages (i.e. Businces Central, etc.) Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLookups, formulas, and pivot tables Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to be a team player. Multi-location experience required. Retail experience preferred. Experience with shared services preferred.
